Spring is here. It is time to clean weeds and plants that can cause harm to community and desert terrain.
Pictured is a fountain grass that was once planted as ornamental, but is now added to the State of Arizona noxious weed list. It is called Pennisetum setaceum.
These plants are also rattlesnake magnets. There are more desirable grasses you can plant such as bull grass and California Fescue that look similar and accomplish your goals in your landscape. So choose wisely when planting.
